This book was borrowed from the library for the purpose of reading/reviewing.

Timmy is brought to live with a loving couple named David and Mary Holmes. The couple is kind and loving towards Timmy. They are especially patient and hopeful that a bond will occur between them.
Timmy's previous life with his parents has left deep scars. Timmy often carries with him a shoe box that when questioned about what is in it, his only reply is evasive and guarded.
This is a Christmas story, a parable. I read this story aloud to my granddaughter, and in reading the final pages my throat was tight and achy in trying to hold back my tears. I loved this book and am thinking of buying it as a Christmas present for my grandchildren.

Blissful Reading!
